چکیده

Supercritical CO2 (ScCO2) dewatering is a lumen water expulsion process, in which cycled between atmospheric pressure and supercritical phase results fast of free water. In this study, specimens 100 mm length Eucalyptus exserta F.V. Muell. wood were dewatered using ScCO2, then the un-dewatered dried oven at °C to investigate moisture transfer drying stress. The ScCO2 was very fast. When content (MC) over 40%, MC distribution gradient after different. showed ring contour distribution, but higher one side lower opposite; great middle small end part wood, roughly consistent. migration rates along fiber transverse directions similar; however, rate faster directions. distributions similar 30% MC. reduced residual stress, it affected stress development subsequent drying.

Modeling of Coupled Moisture and Heat Transfer During Wood Drying

Development of an accurate mathematical model of sufficient generality to evaluate drying processes in materials having diverse moisture transport properties is proposed. The process of wood drying is interpreted as simultaneous heat and moisture transfer with local thermodynamic equilibrium at each point within the timber. The model is a mathematical one treating wood as a continuous and homog...

Effects of Oven Drying Temperature and Drying Time on Rough Rice Moisture Content Determination

T HE effects of oven drying temperature and drying time on whole-kernel, long-grain rough rice moisture content determination were investigated for different moisture content levels ranging from approximately 9 to 22% (w.b.). The results showed that a simplified oven method can be used for rapid moisture measurement with accuracy comparable to that of a standard Association of Official Analytic...

Stress release during drying Evidence that release of internal stress contributes to drying strains of wood

Wood shrinks during drying with the departure of bond water. Along the fibre direction, the magnitude of this shrinkage is mainly governed by the orientation of cellulose microfibrils (MF) in the cell wall. However, tension wood has an unexpectedly high longitudinal shrinkage considering the fact that MFs are oriented nearly parallel to the cell direction. This effect is thought to be due to th...

An Evaluation of Supercritical Drying and PEG/Freeze-drying of Waterlogged Archaeological Wood

Supercritical carbon dioxide has replaced many liquid organic solvents in industry due to its tunable solvent properties, environmental friendliness, and easily achievable critical parameters. The unique properties of supercritical fluids in general, such as gas-like diffusivity and zero surface tension, make them particularly applicable to the field of conservation. This presentation reports o...

Determination of the controlling resistance to moisture transfer during drying

In this study the correlation between lag factor G and Page ́s mathematical model parameter n was developed. Using the newly developed correlation the presence of internal or external resistance to moisture transfer during thermal drying can be verified. As modeling tools Artificial neural networks (ANN) and Adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) were used. The best model for determinatio...
